Museography

Museography

Based on a detailed understanding of visitors’ expectations, our museographic approach consists of accompanying you through all the stages involved in formalising your exhibition project: opportunity study, definition of the theme of your exhibition, content analysis, definition of the main thread of your exhibition and the story to be told to your visitors, development of the museographic programme, museographic masterplan, development of the appropriate methods and tools of mediation, etc.

Prefiguring and Formalising your Project.

Diagnosis & Feasibility Study

Do you have an exhibition, museum or interpretation trail project in mind and want to make sure it’s feasible?

To ensure that you have all the information you need, we can help you to formalise your project. To do this, we carry out opportunity and feasibility studies based on an analysis of your local, tourist and cultural environment. We analyse the types of customer and the cultural sites and facilities, assessing their strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats.

Our aim? To provide you with a decision-making and negotiation tool to help you bring your project to life and position it strategically.

Defining your project and the story you want to tell…

Programming & Masterplan

If you are looking to design your project, we are here to turn it into reality :

  • We define the project in line with your needs and the expectations of your audience

  • We draw up the Scientific and Cultural Project (PSC in French) or masterplan.

  • We draw up functional plans for your facility (layout of exhibition areas, reception, shop, outdoor trail, etc.)

  • We propose an interpretation and exhibition approach

  • We determine and prioritise the messages to be conveyed to your visitors

  • We draw up a synopsis of the future exhibition

  • We study your collections and consider their place in the exhibition

  • We define and design the appropriate media tools

  • We support you right through to the completion of your project

We attach particular importance to involving you at every stage, so that the project is always co-designed and in line with your guidelines.

Ensuring an Innovative Project.

Exhibition Planning / Museography & Innovations

To make your project attractive and innovative, we devise ‘tailor-made’ mediation methods and tools, in line with the ambition of your project, the messages you want to get across, the behaviour of your target audiences, etc.

For us, it’s the content that dictates the tool, not the other way round.

The tools we devise are designed to spark visitors‘ curiosity and encourage them to take part in the visit (mechanical manipulations, interactive modules, young visitors’ trails, educational packs, multi-sensory devices, etc.).

Convinced that digital technology has its rightful place in museums, we constantly monitor the use of new information and communication technologies (NICTs) in visitor experience, enabling us to devise a wide range of digital visitor experiences (touch screens, interactive terminals, immersive 360°, mapping, digital cartography, tablets, mobile applications, etc.).

Our approach also includes ongoing reflection on the issue of accessibility for the general public (Tourisme & Handicaps, specific mediation systems).

Conservation and Management of Collections

Our expertise in conservation and managing collections means we conduct inventories, collection studies, and preventive conservation diagnoses in your facilities (showrooms, warehouses), as well as audits to advise you in managing your collection (such as methodology, training, conservation planning, obtaining certifications, and financing).
